- I worked today. I had promised my wife
I would put 60+ miles on her bike today
to get it to the 500 mile break in period.
I've been looking forward to this myself
as I'm stuck at about 33 mph on the street,
and most of the streets between me and my
work are 40 - 45 mph so I feel like I'm
challenging death on a daily basis until
the engine is broken in. Well, I was at
work from about 10:00 am to around noon
and it started to rain. One of my coworkers
pointed this out, so at my supervisors suggestion
I moved the bike under the patio at work.
This gave me a couple of firsts, one.. riding
in the rain.. and two.. riding without a
helmet or any gear on. Luckily it was a
short ride, I don't want to ride like that
if I can help it. Anyway... I still need
to put about 50 miles on the bike after
today. I rode home in the dark and it was
misting so my faceshield got wet, when I
tried to wipe it off it got dirty... and
then the interior got fogged up from all
the humidity.
I
cleaned her chair for her tonight, our little
parrot likes to sit on the back, and well...
he's a bird.. Anyway... I cleaned it, and
removed the arms of the chair as he likes
to chew on them as they're rubber. I sewed
up a 6 inch rip in the upholstry, and she
asked me to fix a pair of her jeans, a shirt,
and darn some socks so I ironed on a patch
on her jeans, on the inside, and on the
outside I cut it to look like a little bird
for her. Then I darned the socks, and sewed
up a tear in her shirt from where it got
caught on some machinery at her work.
I
was intending to mow the yard and get the
leaves up today, but that will have to wait
until it has been dry for three or four
days and the rain today will extend that.
I hope my grass doesn't die, I've been trying
to get my yard to come back and had alot
of luck this year as it stayed green almost
the whole summer without watering at all.
Oh well.
I
ordered a service Manual and Supplement
for a Kawasaki Ninja 250 tonight because
Marie asked me, and also ordered a repair
and service manual for a Suzuki GS650 because
a friend of mine has a bike in the woods
we're going to try and resurrect... If we
can get the engine running, then that would
be great, but if it's dead I can always
haul it off to Arkansas Wings and sell it
as a salvage bike (I'd hate to do it, the
GS650's were really cool bikes).
I'm
going to bed, I hope this week will be better
than the last one...
